new music friday vol. 9

Happy new music friday friends! I won’t waste your time with a long intro other than to say that remember you can find the accompanying Spotify playlist here or at the end of the post at the bottom. Now let’s get into it!

INDIE & CHILL

I Don’t Think I Can Do This Again (with Clairo): Mura Masa, Clairo

I adore Clairo (and just saw her recently!) so I pretty much knew this song would slap right off the bat but I wasn’t prepared for it to go THIS HARD.

Shelter: FINNEAS

She Plays Bass: beabadoobee

You Could’ve Told Me: Your Smith

Daydreaming: Milky Chance, Tash Sultana

A whole beach vibe. I’m ready to rock back and forth in my hammock while a dolphin sings me to sleep with the sound of the waves.

Heaven: Mark Diamond

You and I: Jakob Ogawa

arrival: slenderbodies

I love slenderbodies and after hearing their Lollapalooza set, I’ve been super hyped for their album and any and all releases leading up to it.

Anak Ko: Jay Som – Devotion, Anak Ko, Get Well

i don’t miss you: Caro

The greatest: Lana Del Ray

Queen Lana graced us with not one but TWO new songs this week in preparation for her new album coming out next Friday.

Just Like You: Emotional Oranges

Obsessed with this group. Obsessed with this song.

NIGHTTIME VIBES

Show You: Baby Rose

Hypnotized: Weston Estate, Marco Luka, Tanu

Sleep On It: Gallant

I know I can always count on Gallant for bringing on alll the chill nighttime vibes with an amazing voice and meaningful lyrics.

Invisible: Sugar Jones

This song is such a vibeeeee. But also extremely relatable and sadly a mood.

I Warned Myself: Charlie Puth

I love my talented boy Charlie but this song is just something else. His voice just sounds straight up heavenly and the lyrics??? A whole masterpiece.

ROCK ON AND POP OFF

Teeth: 5 Seconds of Summer

I can pretty much guarantee this song will be stuck in my head for the rest of today. 5SOS have been thriving recently and this extremely catchy song is just proof of it.

Lose You Again: WALK THE MOON, BRAVES

tryhard: The Band CAMINO – What I Want, Hush Hush, Farsighted, Break Me

The Band CAMINO have been hyping me up for weeks for their new album and it’s finally here! I didn’t include the singles because you can find them in my other new music friday playlists but “Honest” might still be in my top three for this album.

Together: Wolfjay

Lover: Taylor Swift – I Forgot That You Existed, Cruel Summer, The Man, I Think He Knows, Paper Rings, Cornelia Street, Death By A Thousand Cuts, False God, Afterglow

I have no idea why Taylor made “ME” and “You Need To Calm Down” singles but the whole album is a work of art. It gives me huge 1989 vibes (my favorite Taylor album) and the lyrics are just perfect. “The Man” spills some straight facts and “Cornelia Street” is everything to me. Also the temptation to put the whole album on this playlist was real but I retrained myself. So I just put most of them. You’re welcome.

Torn: Ava Max

A whole vibe. A whole bop.

Slow Dance (feat. Ava Max): AJ Mitchell

The collab we didn’t know we needed.

She Do: In Real Life – Got Me Good, Somebody Like You, Eyes Closed

Your typical boyband pop vibes to brighten your days and make your end of summer drives that much better.

OKAY OKAY: Alessia Cara

Alessia has done it again. When does she come out with a song that isn’t a bop?

What Am I: Why Don’t We

Keep It Gold: Surfaces

Loooove Surfaces. Loooove this song even more. It’s just full of all the good vibes and happiness.

LOWKEY RAVE SZN

add any or all of these songs to your next workout/running playlist to keep yourself motivated and ready to party through those weights.

Die Young: Julian Lamadrid

Try: Lost Kings, SAFE

Never Count On Me: Haywyre

Bite My Tongue: Party Pupils

We Can Get High: Galantis, Yellow Claw

Summertime Love: Captain Cuts, Digital Farm Animals

And that’s it! Taylor Swift’s album was a straight masterpiece and The Band CAMINO’s album deserves more hype. As per usual, so much new music was dropped this week and while these are only just my favorites, a lot of the songs come from full EPs or albums that deserve a listen as well.
