new music friday vol. 13

happy music monday friends! This post is coming up a bit later honestly because I couldn’t bear to tear myself away from slenderbodies new album. But don’t worry! If that’s not you’re vibe, you’re bound to find something you love or just listen to the Spotify playlist (found at the end of the post) and discover a new genre you didn’t know you were interested in.

INDIE & CHILL

komorebi: slenderbodies -ruminate, moods, senses, tangled up, departure, away from you

I wasn’t kidding when I said I couldn’t tear myself away from this album. I’m tempted to put the whole thing on the playlist but I didn’t. “away from you” is already on another one of my playlists but I’m so obsessed with it still that I just HAD to include it.

I Don’t Miss You At All: FINNEAS

Finneas truly went OFF on this song and I’m eternally grateful.

smiling when i die: Sasha Sloan

Now if you know me, you know that I’m obsessed with Sasha Sloan and I think she’s one of the best songwriters of this generation. Everything she puts out is amazing but this song in particular really gets me because it’s insanely relatable? Like I almost just feel attacked.

Memories: Maroon 5

Now I know Maroon 5 for their killer bops and pop music but this song is more on the chill side and it’s just beautiful.

unspoken words: mxmtoon

mxmtoon has been keeping us FED with her new songs almost every week. And every single one is even better than the last? We don’t deserve her.

lucy: Soccer Mommy

Drowning: KUCKA

Show Me Love: Alicia Keys, Miguel

ALICIA KEYS? AND MIGUEL? Just with those two names you KNOW this song was going to be good and it exceeded my expectations.

Truth Is: Sabrina Claudio

This song is just art. The vocals. The little breathless harmonies. The feeling and emotion behind it all. *chef’s kiss*

So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings: Caroline Polachek

Buying Time: Lucky Daye

SUMMER 19: Jake Miller – COULD’VE BEEN YOU

Feelings: Lauv

ROCK ON

Never Let You Go: Georgia

I Wish I Was Stephen Malkmus: beabadoobee

POP AND BOPS

Gemini: Bodie, Moflo Music

As someone who’s into astrology, this song is not only a catchy bop but I totally get it.

Stack It Up (feat. A Boogie Wit da Hoodie): Liam Payne

Imperfections: Céline Dion

Queen Céline really went off with this one. Not only is it great sonically, but the lyrics? A whole masterpiece.

Afterlife: Hailee Steinfeld

RAVE SZN

Baggage (with AlunaGeorge): Gryffin, Gorgon City

Higher: Ally Brooke, Matoma

RAP SNAP CRACKLE POP

Satish: Tee Grizzley

Bubbly: Roy Woods

Slow It Down: Mike Posner

On Sight: Free Nationals, JID, Kadhja Bonet, MIKNNA

HEAVY HITTER: Jack Harlow

Stuck In A Dream (feat. Gunna): Lil Mosey

And that’s it! All of the songs I included are my favorites from that last week that I’ve had on repeat ever since I’ve first heard them. I encourage you to check out a new genre or song that sounded interesting to you or you can listen to them all on the Spotify playlist I made here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/01tZ0h8qjVri7QPujejQGg?si=8qYIr8rKQSKmLWMS3QSG4Q
