new music friday vol. 30 +31

Hello all! Happy Friday! I’m back after a long break to bring you not one, but TWO playlists! I’ve been jamming to volume 30 for the past few weeks and it has my top favorite new tracks from each of those weeks including LANY, FLETCHER, The Aces, Jonas Brothers, The 1975 and joan. You can find volume 30 HERE.

What you will find below is my favorite songs from this week’s releases with some short captions I’ve typed up about my favorites. We have been blessed with a whole new album from Lady Gaga herself filled with songs that will get anyone up and dancing. Alec Benjamin also dropped an album and Kygo also released his long awaited album full of bops too. You can find this playlist HERE or at the bottom of this blog post per usual.

I’m obsessed with all of these songs so let’s get into it!

ELECTRO DANCE + RAVE SZN

Chromatica: Lady Gaga – Rain on Me (with Ariana Grande), Fun Tonight, Plastic Doll, Replay, Babylon

When I tell you this album has no skips, I mean it has NO SKIPS. Every single song on the album is so good and the perfect dance beat. Also each Chromatica transition is absolutely perfect and I got the chills each time. Plus you all know I love Ariana Grande and her song with Gaga, Rain on Me, has been stuck in my head for a week so I had to include it in this playlist too. Also I was interested in what Elton John would sound like on this album and “Sine From Above” didn’t disappoint. With uplifting dance beats and catchy woke lyrics, Gaga has done it again with this album.

Golden Hour: Kygo – Beautiful (with Sandro Cavazza), Broken Glass (With Kim Petras), How Would I Know (with Oh Wonder), Could You Love Me (with Dreamlab), Someday (with Zac Brown)

Want some more chill music to dance to but maybe less aggressively than Gaga with more of a tropical vibe? Kygo’s new album is the best place to look. Plus his album is full of amazing collaborations with different artists that elevate each song to the next level.

That’s My Music: Breathe Carolina

Looking for some house music? Look no further. This new song from Breathe Carolina has everything you need.

Only A Fool (with Pink Sweat$): Galantis, Ship Wrek, Pink Sweat$

This song is soooo good. Definitely a must listen from this week’s line up.

Dance with Me (feat. Thomas Rhett & Young Thug): Diplo, Thomas Rhett, Young Thug

A song perfect for summer.

Oxygen: Winona Oak, Robin Schulz

A song that’ll make you want to get up and dance but also contemplate your love life with Oak’s voice and lyrics.

POP AND BOPS

Friend: Emily Vaughn, Sophie Rose, Emily Zeck

As a fellow Emily and lover of good music, I feel like it would be a crime if I didn’t listen to this song and tell y’all about it. This song is so upbeat and cute but also the lyrics are a big quarantine mood. We all need a friend to help us get through this quarantine.

Ur So F**kinG cOoL: Tones And I

I felt the salt in this bop. Add to your workout playlist or that playlist you have for when Tinder boys are trash.

A Letter To My Younger Self: Quinn XCII, Logic

Obsessed with this song and collaboration.

Dance Alone: Tayla Parx

Such a quarantine bop.

LA in Two: ELIO

Actually obsessed with this song. Like definitely going to be listening to it on repeat.

Everything’s Good: Phil Good

A seemingly positive upbeat bop.

These Two Windows: Alec Benjamin – Mind Is a Prison, Demons, The Book of You & I

This week Benjamin released his debut album full of soft pop hits that are a great addition to any playlist.

Mourn The Living: Sarah Barrios

You can feel the emotions through Barrios’ voice and lyrics. A great addition to your break up playlist.

Make Your Troubles Go Away: Andra Day

Day sings straight facts with her powerful voice in “Make Your Troubles Go Away.”

I Can See The Change: Celeste

This song is just beautiful.

R&viBe

On 11: Destiny Rodgers

Forever Mine: Robin Thicke

U 2 Luv: Ne-Yo, Jeremih

This song is SO GOOD and so catchy.

INDIE & CHILL

My Heart Is: Les Priest, Clemency

I love Les Priest for his work in LANY, but his solo work? Hits on a totally different level.

No Use: Christian Leave

I’m obsessed with Leave’s voice and this song.

Hurry Home (with beabadoobee & Jay Som): No Rome, beabadoobee, Jay Som

hey girl: boy pablo

Obsessed with this song.

for the people in the back: ROLE MODEL

This one too. Plus you all know how much I love ROLE MODEL.

I’m On Edge: The Hails

I found The Hails when I heard them live a little over.a year ago. With everything going on in the world, they released a song today that was so good but also describes how we’re all feeling or should be feeling right now. We’ve had enough. The song is only available on Soundcloud now so I’ve linked “I’m On Edge” HERE and included their newest song on Spotify, “Situations,” in this playlist because it’s also insanely good. If you’re a Spotify listener, give them a follow to keep up to date and be notified when this song is dropped on there. Very proud of them for using their platform to do good.

Forgive Myself: Griff

I’ve loved Griff’s music since she dropped her first song. This song is so good.

Disco Man: Remi Wolf

Wolf drops banger after banger and this song is no exception.

Don’t Go Outside: Froogle

A quarantine song that’s relatable to us all because we all “don’t know how long we’ll be home.” Don’t go outside people.

Catch: CAL

New Age Meds: THE WLDLFE

Another song I’m obsessed with.

come on come on: almost monday

The Ferris Bueller reference hits different. Love this song.

Hold Somebody: EMMA WAHLIN

Next Time: Shravya Kamaraju

A new artist that I’ve come across recently and fallen in love with, Kamaraju creates beautiful chill songs.

You’re All I Want: Cigarettes After Sex

A very chill song that’s the perfect addition to any rainy day playlist.

Figment Of My Mind: Bruno Major

A chill song perfect to calm any vibe.

Morning Dew: Kelsey Lu

I’ve never heard a title better describe a song. The simple guitar and instrumentals paired with Lu’s incredibly talented voice create a song that’s such an early morning vibe.

One and Done: Bright Eyes

The violin and piano in this song really got me.

a world of chaos (feat. Rxseboy, Jomie & Ivri): Powfu

RAP SNAP CRACKLE POP

Riri: Aminé

He loves Rihanna, you love Rihanna, I love Rihanna, we all love Rihanna.

RNB (feat. Megan Thee Stallion): Young Dolph

YEE HAW

Wine, Beer, Whiskey – Radio Edit: Little Big Town

Need a song about drinking? Check out this one right here for a guaranteed good time.

Unreleased Tracks: Old Dominion – I’m On It, Goes Without Saying, Can’t Get You

Old Dominion released three previously unreleased new songs this week and I love them all.

Wild World: Kip Moore – Fire And Flame, Red White Blue Jean American Dream, She’s Mine, Grow On You, Crazy For You Tonight

Shout out to Kip Moore for giving us a whole new album this week.

No Glory in the West: Orville Peck

Sick of the Pop Country and want to take it old-school? Listen to Peck’s new song now!

And that’s it! I hope you enjoy and find some of your new favorite songs and artists from this playlist because I know I have. Plus I hope you discover some dance beats to fuel your quarantine activities!
