Life is all about taking risks. Everyone always says “life is a roller coaster,” but you have to take the risk and get on for the ride.
If J.K. Rowling hadn’t taken the risk and published her first book, we wouldn’t have Harry Potter.
If P.T. Barnum hadn’t taken the risk and started his circus, he wouldn’t have changed all those people’s lives.
If Mia Dolan hadn’t taken the risk and moved out to LA, she wouldn’t have launched her acting career (or met Sebastian :)).
If I hadn’t taken the risk and started this blog, it simply wouldn’t exist!
J.K. Rowling could have given up after being denied by publishers and thought that no one wanted to read her book. P.T. Barnum could’ve found another lame job barely supporting his family. Mia could’ve just stayed home and studied something she didn’t care about. RIP Sebastian. But they didn’t!
They took the risk.
There are big risks and there are little risks, but life is all about living not just existing.
As a senior in high school, my school has a Grad Day where the seniors have the opportunity to go to Universal with their friends for a day. Now if you know me, I absolutely hate roller coasters more than anything.
I was traumatized. One time at a carnival in middle school I went on those spinning bear rides where you sit inside the bear and the people you’re with (who claim to be your friends) can spin the table in the middle to control how fast the bear itself spins. I totally threw up afterwards. A lot. It wasn’t a good time.
And that was the extent of my roller coaster experience. I was clearly experienced.
But I was about to go to Universal with the huge roller coasters like The Incredible Hulk, The Mummy, and Rip Ride Rockit.

And yes, you go straight up on Rip Ride Rockit as seen in the left of that photo above. And yes, it was a no from me.
But my friends were PERSISTENT. They made me realize that I would totally regret not going on all the great rides and I shouldn’t let my fear of maybe vomiting (and possibly dying) stop me from having a great time.
And so I went on the rides and took the risk.
I also closed my eyes on every single one and totally had PTSD on the bus ride home so I couldn’t sleep. I even may have shed a few tears on The Incredible Hulk. Tell no one.
BUT IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT!
In the beginning when the information about Grad Day came out, I even had the small thought of just not going because I knew I didn’t want to go on any rides.
But if I hadn’t gone, I wouldn’t have been able to experience Harry Potter World and if you know me, I LOVE Harry Potter. Not only did I straight up run and push past people to get to the castle, I constantly jumped up and down and squealed with excitement the whole time. Like if you were in my group, you would have totally heard me yell “I love this so much” repeatedly as I looked like a complete dork. I’m completely serious people.

The train! Butterbeer! Chocolate Frogs! Hogsmeade!! Diagon Alley!! Hogwarts! Gringotts!
Completely unedited photos of the beauty. Yes, I know it’s gorgeous.
This may be a small risk to some but the point is, I didn’t let my fear of the risk stop me from living life! Take the risk! Do what you love! Be who you are! Try that new thing! Travel the world!
So stand up for what you believe in! Don’t let the fear of standing out or getting suspended stop you from standing up for something you genuinely believe is right.
Take the risk.
Stand up.
Stand out.
Live life. 🙂
Catch ya on the flip side,
Kasual kook xx

Heck yeah, take the risks. Sell your house and your stuff and move 4,000 miles away from your family to a state you’ve only been to once. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. Life is short and the world is so big!
