new music friday vol. 11

Happy Friday friends! Before we get any further can we just talk about all the freaking BOPS that came from this week? Post Malone’s whole album is a MASTERPIECE. And the features on it? INSANE. So many of my favorite artists dropped new tunes and I’ve been listening to them on repeat since they were released.

As always there will be a Spotify playlist with all of these songs that you can listen to while you’re reading or just skip the post all together and listen to the songs? It’s totally up to you. I will, of course, be including my thoughts or information with some of the songs so that really stand out to me, but I do limit myself to write within the confines of how long it takes me to listen to the song so you’re not stuck reading paragraphs about how much I love an artist or song. And without further ado, let’s begin.

POP, BOPS, AND VIBES

Comparisons: Driveaway

Now I just saw Driveaway perform live last weekend and immediately fell in love with their sound so when I heard they had a new song, I knew I HAD to presave it immediately. And I listened to “Comparisons” on repeat for a good hour until I forced myself to go to sleep. It’s just that good. Super catchy, lots of feel good vibes, and veryyyy good sonically. A great addition to any future playlist.

This Summer: Alessia Cara – What’s On Your Mind?, Like You, October

I’ve included most of these songs from her EP in other playlists but I adore all the newest ones just as much. The song “October” just….gets me. It somehow gives you that nostalgic feeling that we all know and love. It also gives you that feeling of when you’re enjoying a moment and you wish you could just freeze time and live it forever and you know you’re going to miss it before it’s even gone? Yeah that feeling.

LIGHT RAIN: WOOF! IT’S BILLY

So if I’m getting this right, Lauv’s dog totally just made this song? Or it’s under his name? I don’t know but it’s a great song.

Hollywood’s Bleeding: Post Malone – Allergic, A Thousand Bad Times, Die For Me (feat. Future & Halsey), Take What You Want (feat. Ozzy Osbourne & Travis Scott), Im Gonna Be, Staring At The Sun (feat. SZA), Myself

When I tell you this album is a masterpiece, I truly mean it. There are pretty much no skips and as much as I wish I could include the whole thing, I only included my favorites in this playlist that can give you an idea of it as a whole so you can enjoy it on your own.
