new music friday vol. 17

happy friday! This post is going up on a saturday simply because I just didn’t realize yesterday was friday. I guess winter break really does that to you. This week’s new music friday is full of songs that’ll make you want to get up and dance with hits from Party Pupils and Martin Garrix as well as a new album from Travis Scott and a whole live album from Ariana Grande’s Sweetener World Tour. Plus the playlist flow? Magnificent. (so please listen in order if you can)

And because it is winter break, I gift you this curated playlist but with limited commentary because I do want to spend as much time as I can with my family…and watching all the bowl games on this Saturday. So let’s get into it.

RAP SNAP CRACKLE POP

JACKBOYS: Travis Scott, JACKBOYS – HIGHEST IN THE ROOM (feat. ROSALÍA & Lil Baby), HAD ENOUGH (feat. Quavo & Offset),

Honestly, this whole album is pretty fire. Obviously, I didn’t include the entire album so I definitely recommend checking it out. Also the transition from “INTRO” to “GANG GANG”? *chef’s kiss*

Over It (feat. Wiz Khalifa): Yung Pinch, Wiz Khalifa

Bubble Tea: IAMDDB

ELECTRO DANCE + RAVE SZN

Alone, Pt. II: Alan Walker, Ava Max

The Plug (feat. Drelli): Party Pupils, MAX, Drelli

This song is so catchy and just makes you want to get up and dance, but I would expect nothing less from Party Pupils and MAX.

Hold On (feat. Michel Zitron): Martin Garrix, Matisse & Sadko, Michel Zitron

¿ (feat. Halsey): Bring Me The Horizon, Halsey

Sinner: Like Mike

Keep Going: Syn Cole

The Light: Blank & Jones

too weak: hannah hausman, RYANVIII, fortune

POP N BOPS

Okay: Ayelle

k bye for now (swt live): Ariana Grande – r.e.m., needy, nasa, tattooed heart, goodnight n go

As a massive fan of Ariana, it took everything in me to not include the entire album in this playlist because it is truly a masterpiece. I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Sweetener World Tour (shout out to my boy Rob aka rrevan (check out his music) for the amazing birthday present!) and this live album just brought back all the feels from being able to see her live. I included a few of my favorites in this playlist but I highly recommend the entire album for the full concert experience.

Air: Cub Sport

Although this song is purely instrumental without any words or lyrics, it doesn’t need them to convey the feelings or meaning behind the song because of the fact that it already does that sonically.

Lie in It: Boyfriend

2020: Great Good Fine Ok

Baby!: damnboy!

Ride Like A Pro (feat. Reo Cragun): Kid Ink, Reo Cragun

R&viBe

All Me (feat. Keyshia Cole): Kehlani, Keyshia Cole

Ultralight Beam: Sunday Service Choir

THE TALENT. Their voices harmonize to create pure art.

INDIE AND CHILL

As Long As I Break Your Heart: Ruben

whatever ü wanna B: Blaenavon

Lost Again: Mighty Oaks

No ID: Andrew Applepie

Behind the Light: Joshua Hyslop

Somebody Loved: Kina Grannis

Hold You Dear: The Secret Sisters

Dog: GRMLN

Gotta Get It: Kadeema

Very catchy and a great new addition to my “surf n skate” playlist.
